More than half a million Ukrainians were diagnosed with diabetes in 2023.
The Ministry of Health reminds that every Ukrainian has the right to a number of free services provided by the state within the framework of the Medical Guarantee Program.
The medical guarantee program covers the examination to identify the risk of developing diabetes, the diagnosis itself, and, if necessary, the prescribed medication.
For this, the patient needs to contact a family doctor in a hospital that has a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine
What else will be free for people with diagnosed diabetes?
☛ measurement of blood sugar level;
☛ regular measurement of blood pressure;
☛ assessment of general cardiovascular risk according to the SCORE scale;
☛ measurement of body mass index;
☛ total cholesterol analysis;
☛ consultation on a healthy lifestyle;
☛ referral to other analyzes and studies by narrow specialists;
☛prescribing drugs from the "Affordable Medicines" program for type II diabetes.
☛ prescribing insulin according to the treatment plan prescribed by the endocrinologist.
There are 45 unique trade names of insulin preparations in the "Affordable Medicines" program. Taking into account their various forms, there are 72 preparations.
